Industry-leading manufacturers, Ennis-Flint and Quest Construction Products, announce strategic partnership to optimize products and support for specialized markets in the Americas

Agreement outlines paths forward for Ride-A-Way™ Coatings, StreetPrint®/StreetBond® Coatings, and StreetHeat® Infrared Heaters and Grids

Charleston, SC and Thomasville, NC, June 3, 2014 -- Quest Construction Products, LLC (QCP) and Ennis-Flint have entered into a formal strategic partnership to more effectively meet market demand and customers’ expectations aligned with capabilities, experience, and know-how: a mission both companies share. This path forward relates primarily to the companies’ product offerings and support to the government and contractor markets responsible for maintaining, striping and marking streets and highways, parking lots, and walkways on public roads as well as private and commercial properties. The plan is simplistic in its separation of responsibilities to better serve the industry. “We are simply bolstering our relationship with Ennis-Flint for which we have been supplying product for a number of years. Now, we can minimize the cross-over of calling on the same customer base by allowing our respective sales teams to do what they do best within the primary markets and segments our companies each serve,” said Charlie Van Gelder, Executive Vice President of Quest Construction Products.

Ennis-Flint will exclusively provide the specialty coating product Ride-A-Way™, manufactured by QCP, for bike lanes, bus lanes, and other preferential lane treatments regulated by the FHWA for public roadways. QCP will focus on decorative, cool pavement, and asphalt preservation coatings for private and commercial properties such as parking lots, schools, plazas, and walkways. QCP will market these products under the brands StreetBond® and StreetPrint®, a former Ennis-Flint brand which has transitioned to QCP by means of this strategic partnership. “Encouraging each of our sales forces to focus on enhanced support to these defined market segments allows us to deliver the value and performance our customers deserve. It’s a win-win, and I’m not talking about the benefits for our two companies. I’m referring to the fact our customers win because we can minimize overlap of products in the marketplace while clearly providing the best, proven solutions in the specialty coatings markets,” said Andrew Liebert, Vice President Sales of Ennis-Flint. In addition, Ennis-Flint will continue to manufacture and supply stamping grids and infrared heaters under the StreetHeat™ brand for decorative crosswalks and traffic calming treatments. QCP will be the distributor of these products to their network of certified applicators for StreetBond®/StreetPrint® coatings.

While the agreement is not a merger between the companies, it is a partnership by which the respective sales forces will maintain a very close relationship and line of communication with each other. “This partnership allows greater market penetration so that every inquiry from customers and prospects gets to the right person as a result of our constant dialogue across market segments,” said Mr. Van Gelder of QCP. Over the coming weeks, updates will be made accordingly to the companies’ websites and support collateral.
